The project began with site demolition of existing buildings and structures including the Oak Lawn METRA Station, a surface commuter parking lot, the Groebe Realty Building and a residence. A five-level pre-cast concrete parking structure was constructed to accommodate a minimum of 768 passenger vehicles as well as a new 6,075-square-foot masonry METRA station. Included within the scope of work was all civil work consisting of site utilities, street pavements, curbs, sidewalks, ornamental roadway and site lighting, associated hardscape and landscape improvements, and an underground irrigation system.
